Visiting – Rules & Reg.

 

The purpose of any visit by private visitors is to maintain the family and social relationships of the inmate in order to promote his/her reintegration into the community upon release.

 

Visiting hours

Monday to Sunday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. 

Inmates from the Wagner’s Youth Facility (WYF), Addiction Rehabilitation Center (ARC) and those facing sanctions do not receive normal visits.  Kindly contact the Prison to confirm visiting schedule or arrangements.

 

Procedures and Rules

  1. At the main visitors gate, individuals must present a valid identification card (Social Security, Passport, Voters Id or Drivers License).  Visitors without a valid ID will not be allowed on the premise.
  2. Cell phones, cameras or other electrical devices are not allowed in the Premise.
  3. At the Control Section, the visitor must once again present their ID after which a number will be issued.  Visitors must wait their turn at the Waiting Area until their number is called.
  4. When the number is called, the visitor must proceed back to the Control Section and present the items (if any) brought for the inmate.  Control Officers will thoroughly search the items and document.
  5. No carry-on/handbags are allowed inside the Visitors Box (this is the designated area where visits are allowed while inside the Prison). 
  6. All visitors are subject to bodily searches before heading to the Visitors Box.
  7. Duration of all visits is 30 minutes.
  8. Smoking is prohibited on the Premise.
  9. Minors (under the age of 18 years) must be accompanied by an approved authorized adult.
  10. Only family members or legal advisors are allowed to visit inmates.
  11. Inmates are allowed a maximum of $20 (excess cash will be confiscated).  Provision is made at the Control Area for visitors who want to give inmates cash in excess of $20.
  12. Prison has the discretion to approve or deny any visit.

 

Visits at Specific Locations:

Visitors visiting the Wagner’s Youth Facility, Females Section, Tango 1 (IFFB program), Tango 10 and Tango 11 will receive their visits at these particular locations.  Officers will escort visitors to the specific location.

 

Dress Code Rules: 

-         No tank tops, undershirts.

-         No sleeveless blouses (no tube blouses), no throw backs, short dresses, miniskirts, back out.  Dresses and skirts must be knee height or below.

-       No clothing depicting gang affiliation, camouflage or full black. No gang paraphernalia including bandanas, insignias, warm hats or woolen hats.

 

Prohibited Items:

The following items are prohibited:

-          all types of fruits and vegetables

-          cigarettes, cigars or related products

-          glass or metal containers, metal pots, spoons, forks, knives, aluminum foil

-          cell phones, cameras or electrical device or appliances

-          medications

  All food items must be in transparent plastic bags or containers.

 

 

Permitted Items:

The following items are permitted:

-      Clothing, Blanket, No Pillows

-        Reading and Writing Materials

-        Body Spray/Perfume (Plastic Bottle)

-        Deodorant (Transparent Stick); No Roll on

-        Footwear

-        Mouth Wash

-        Medication and Vitamins

-        Hair Products: Gel, Perm, Medicated Shampoo, Rubber band

-        Brush & Comb

-        A maximum of $20 is allowed on an inmated at any one time.  (More     monies can be deposited into the inmate's personal account for their withdrawal and use).

-        Vegetables and Fruits (Except Pineapple, Potato, Carrots, Peanuts)

-        Powdered Milk

-        Wheat Bread and Wheat Bun

-        Corn Flakes

-        Corn Tortilla

-        Soy Milk and Soy Meat

-        Pastries

-        Cooked Food
